Visiting Mall Road

Mall Road is a fun place to visit and it’s easy to find. Everything that visitors to Murree are looking for can be found there. They have various types of regional food treats, traditional dresses and lovely hand made items. Even though it’s one of the most crowded places in Murree, the market is nice and peaceful. The market is very big but it’s worth spending enough time to see everything. It’s a good idea to check prices of items at stores before going to Mall Road. When knowing the typical price for an item, it’s possible to bargain with shopkeepers to get the cost down to half of other stores.

Going to Patriata (New Murree)

About 15 kilometers from the Murree hills is New Murree. It is a well-developed station with beautiful views. The easiest way to get there is by hiring a private car and driver. He can take you and pick you up when you’re ready to return. There is also a cable car system with a chair left that riders can use to travel the 7 kilometers to Patriata from New Murree. Beginning at ground level, the chair lift takes visitors up to a hill in the middle. From there, the cable car continues the journey up to Patriata Hill. In the summer and the winter there are memorable scenes of the hillside. While enjoying the panoramic view of the Kashmir mountains from the middle hill, it’s possible to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.

Horseback riding is another option in Patriata. But be sure to settle the price before leaving to avoid being overcharged. Also be careful about taking a guide as local guides can be very expensive.

Chair Lifts in Pindi Point

The chair lifts in Pindi Point descend about 1.5 kilometers. The 3-kilometer ride goes quickly while watching the amazing scenery. Riders can see the zigzag road, which passes below and the great pine trees standing along the side. This is also the point at which the great jungle begins.
