Hurricane Earl is heading toward the mainland U.S., and even though it is forcasted to swerve out to sea and only brush the coastline, airlines are already issuing change fee waivers for customers traveling to affected destinations.
Here are the airlines that have issued change fee waivers (so far). Destinations will likely change as Earl tracks north:
- American (not a specific waiver, but rather an overall hurricane policy)
- US Airways
- Virgin America
At press time, the National Weather Service had issued hurricane warnings for much of the Carolina coast, with a hurricane watch extending from Virginia to Cape May, New Jersey. Watches and warnings are expected to be issued further up the coast as Earl moves along.
