Visit the Alcazaba Fortress

The Alcazaba is hard to miss. The historic fortress sits atop of a hill at the center of town, dominating the city’s skyline. It was first erected in the 11th century. Of course, it has seen some changes over the years as it changed hands and was altered to fit the weaponry of the time, but much of it is still intact today, making it a must-see for tourists in the area. The roads in this part of the region can be dangerous for drivers inexperienced with mountains. It’s advisable to hire a local drive you around if you are not comfortable doing so.
