8 Amazing U.S. Vacation Rentals to Book in 2021

Picking a vacation rental can be just as fun as picking where to actually go on vacation. No matter where you choose to explore in 2021, whether across the country (travel permitting) or your own backyard, there are dozens of vacation rentals to choose from. We’ve rounded up our eight favorite vacation rentals to book in the United States in 2021.

Editor’s note: Planning a trip to one of these incredible rentals? Please follow all travel restrictions and guidelines at your destination.

The Bloomhouse by Lodgewell, Austin, Texas

Sleeps: 4

Price: $754 average per night

If your family has ever thought of having their own mystical escape then the Bloomhouse by Lodgewell might be the perfect spot. The home is set in a wooded valley on the outskirts of downtown Austin. When you drive up to the home you’ll notice that it doesn’t look like a regular house, but something out of a Dr. Suess book with curved white walls and oddly shaped decorations lining the pathway to the front door. Inside you’ll find that nothing has sharp corners and the design follows the same twisty curved theme of the outside of the home. The highlight of the home is the deck that looks out into nature and a nearby creek with only the sounds of birds and wildlife around you.

Luxury Estate, Scottsdale, Arizona

Sleeps: 16

Price: $1,480 average per night

For the family looking for a getaway filled with fun this rental really does have it all. The backyard for the estate has a 9-hole mini-golf course, outdoor bowling, corn hole, ping pong, life-sized Connect Four and Jenga, a fire pit, a pool and more. As you play outside you’ll have a view of the mountains in the distance. When the time for fun in the sun is over the inside of the house is beautifully done with a large kitchen any home chef will love for making meals and a home theater for watching the latest movies as a family.

The Stowe Glass House, Stowe, Vermont

Sleeps: 12

Price: $2,900 average per night

If socially-distanced skiing is on your 2021 travel list, then consider the Stowe Glass House near the Mount Mansfield ski slopes in Vermont. The house has floor-to-ceiling windows with 180-degree mountain views in some rooms. While some amenities like the pool are seasonal, others like the sauna and ski lockers are available all year long. One thing that is unique about this rental is the radiant heat floors, which will warm your feet up after being in the snow all day long. The home also has a wraparound deck and game room for après ski.

Near Disneyland, Anaheim, California

Sleeps: 24

Price: $1995 average per night

A trip to Disneyland is a lot easier if you stay near the theme parks. This vacation rental is just seven minutes from the front entrance of the Disneyland Resort, which is closer than some hotels in Anaheim. After a day at the theme parks, hop in the pool (which has an attached lazy river and water slide). Inside, there are two themed bedrooms for kids, or adults who want to channel their inner kid. The first is a princess-themed room and the other is a Cars-themed room.

The Whale House, Santa Barbara, California

Sleeps: 6

Price: $756 average per night

This four-story home in California is inspired by an actual whale, and while travelers might not get all of the symbolism, they will get a relaxing vacation if they stay here. Inside the house there are 270 stained glass windows along with two bedrooms. The outside of the home has a central courtyard with a glittering lap pool and a detached guest house. Exploring the nearby attractions is easy as most are just a short five to ten-minute walk away from the Whale House.

Xanadu, Jasper, Arkansas

Sleeps: 8

Prince: $2,200 average per night

To really get away from everything, your family might want to consider staying in a cave—like this one that has its own waterfall inside. The cave rental has large windows that allow you to see out over the valley and nearby lakes. The home comes equipped with all of the luxuries of modern living like wifi and satellite tv. Each of the walls inside the home is part of the natural cave and the features of the cave are shown off around the house.

The Leland Lake House, Quilcene, Washington

Sleeps: 11

Price: $162 average per night

Lake living is something that many people dream of, and while it might not be the reality full-time for some, this vacation home does give the lake life while on vacation. The lake house has a large private dock with an accompanying canoe that can be used anytime during your stay. There is also a fire pit and hot tub outside to enjoy even more of the outdoors after the sun goes down. The home does have one neighbor inside the property but the homes are far apart and divided by a brook.

Modern Grahall Estate, Ludlow, Vermont

Sleeps: 15

Price: $1,400 average per night

Sleeping in a castle isn’t just for princes and princesses anymore. With this vacation rental, your whole family can feel like royalty. The home is inspired by Scottish castles with a modern twist and is located on top of Hawk’s Mountain. During the summer this is an ideal spot for enjoying picnics out on the private patio and yard, and in the winter your family is just minutes from the ski slopes.
