Bunbury Things to Do
Australia is considered one of the most popular locations for travelers to visit. During your visit in Bunbury (western Australia), here are a few things you can enjoy at your leisure.
CWA House
If you are a fan of history and old architecture, then you will absolutely love this tourist attraction. The CWA House (Country Women’s Association) is home to an organization specifically to assist women who had trouble within the workforce. The Bunbury CWA branch was established in 1929 and the home was built with the Inter War Old English style in 1931.
The CWA House provided women with personal services including first aid training, child care, and maternity clothes during pregnancy. During World War II, members of the Bunbury branch spent their time making suitable pajamas, knitting socks, and sending parcels to the soldiers at war.
Manea Park Eco Walks
The Manea Park Eco Walks is a beautiful sight seeing activity that you can enjoy. Manea Park is most notably known for their aesthetically pleasing wildflowers. During the spring, you will be able to look at and learn about 30 different varieties of wildflowers that appear in the area.
This walk spans just over a mile, and is perfect for individuals that enjoy riding their bikes or a simple walk. The Manea Park is also accessible to those that are in wheelchairs. It is important to know that during the beginning of the walk your shoes will have to be cleaned. Due to a local disease that exists within the area, for sanitation purposes (and help of reducing spread) is why your shoes need to be cleaned.
Victoria Street Sculptures
The Victoria Street Sculptures resembles a museum, the location just so happens to be outside. You will be able to view immaculate sculptures including the Gateway sculpture that Mary Knott created in 1996. This sculpture in particular was created as a representation in memory of John Knott (Town Clerk of Bunbury between 1919-1948).
Feel free to take photos of the sculptures at your discretion. However, it is recommended that you do not touch nor sit on any of the sculptures.
