When Carnival debuts the new Carnival Freedom in March 2007, the line will also introduce a new itinerary. The Freedom‘s 12-day Mediterranean and Greek Isles cruises will feature two first-time destinations for Carnival: the Greek Isles and Turkey.

The 12-day itinerary includes visits to Naples, Italy; Rhodes, Greece; Izmir (Ephesus) and Istanbul, Turkey; Athens (Piraeus) and Katakolon, Greece; and Livorno, Italy, as well as an overnight call in Rome (Civitavecchia). The ship will also sail an alternate 12-day “Grand Mediterranean” cruise with stops in Naples, Italy; Dubrovnik, Croatia; Venice (two-day call) and Messina (Sicily), Italy; Barcelona, Spain; Cannes, France; and Livorno, Italy.

Prices for the Mediterranean and Greek Isles cruises begin at $999 per person and the Grand Mediterranean voyages start at $1,449 per person, both based on double occupancy. The Carnival Freedom‘s inaugural cruising season goes on sale next Monday, March 27.
