Chase Points Now Transfer to Singapore Air Miles

The Chase-issued credit cards linked to its Ultimate Rewards program — the Sapphire Preferred, Ink Bold, and Ink Plus cards — have made a place for themselves in the wallets of many mileage collectors on the strength of the convertibility of Ultimate Rewards points, which can be exchanged for miles or points in multiple airline and hotel programs, usually at a 1:1 ratio.

This week, Ultimate Rewards upped to six the number of airline transfer partners with the addition of Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer program. Effective immediately, Ultimate Rewards points can be exchanged, one for one, for miles in the KrisFlyer program. Points can be transferred in increments of 1,000, and there is no limit to the number of points cardholders can transfer.

Including KrisFlyer, Ultimate Rewards now supports transfers to six airline and five hotel programs, as follows:

• British Airways Executive Club
• United MileagePlus
• Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards
• Korean Air SKYPASS
• Amtrak Guest Rewards
• Hyatt Gold Passport
• Marriott Rewards
• Priority Club Rewards
• The Ritz-Carlton Rewards
• Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
• Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

Not interested in participating in Singapore’s mileage program? True, it’s not likely to be the go-to program for most U.S.-based travelers. But bear in mind that there are currently sign-up bonuses of 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points on offer for the Chase Ink Plus and Ink Bold cards, and 40,000 points for the Sapphire Preferred card. Those bonuses alone put you within striking distance of free flights on Singapore itself or on its Star Alliance airline partners.

Bottom line: a nice value-add for Ultimate Rewards, and for the program-linked Chase cards.
