A new queen is on the scene. This past weekend, [% 9732 | | Cunard %] took delivery of the Queen Victoria, boosting its fleet to three ships prior to the departure of the Queen Elizabeth 2.
The handover took place at the Fincantieri shipyard in Venice. The ship will remain in Italy until November 30, when it will sail to Southampton to be [% 2425286 | | named %] by Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall, on December 10. The Queen Victoria will set sail on its maiden voyage on December 11.
One of the new programs on the Queen Victoria will be fencing instruction, administered by Leon Paul Fencing Equipment, a company run by and for competitive fencers. Cunard guests can learn fencing techniques or improve their foil skills with a certified instructor. Classes will be offered daily.
