Most of the attention paid to Delta recently has focused on either the airline’s rocky bankruptcy or its massive international expansion. A little below the radar, though, Delta has also been rapidly expanding its domestic route map to the tune of about 80 new routes since last fall. The trend continues this week, with Delta announcing three new point-to-point flights targeting business travelers.
Starting September 11, the airline will add new Comair service between Boston and Dayton and between Jacksonville and Pensacola. About a week later, Delta partner Atlantic Southeast Airlines will add a Saturday Savannah/Washington, D.C., flight. While these may not be the most exciting of routes, the moves do illustrate Delta’s ongoing reorganization.
