Sarasota Travel Guide

Why You Should Visit Sarasota

Sarasota travel is all about the beaches. Spend your days on the sparkling white sand in the Gulf of Mexico, then dust yourself off and head inland for shopping, a trip to the Ringling Brothers Circus Museum, an afternoon at the botanical gardens, and mouthwatering eats that range from uber-fresh seafood to authentic Italian.

When to Visit Sarasota

Sarasota is primed for tourists year-round, but events like the Sarasota County Fair in March and the Florida Wine Fest and Auction in April are especially tempting. Go for spring break, take your family to the Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix in July, or enjoy some of the country’s best musicians at the Sarasota Blues Festival in November.

Average Sarasota Weather

Visit Sarasota in the summer and you can expect hot, humid weather with plenty of rain and temperatures averaging in the upper 80s. Winter is still warm but much dryer, with little rainfall and temperatures that rarely drop below freezing. Spring highs are typically in the 70s and 80s. Hurricane season runs from June through November.
