When To Go

Year-round attractions, endless white beaches, and constant warm weather make Florida an ideal vacation spot practically all year long. With afternoon temperatures rarely dropping below 65 degrees in the winter, The "Sunshine State" hosts many fleeing from the cold weather farther north, and attracts a steady stream of visitors through August.

high season: December to August
low season: November
shoulder season: September to October

The above represents Florida's seasonality in general. However, there are a few regional exceptions. For example, the north has an extended low season from November through February, and the south's low season runs from June through November. The south also experiences a shoulder season from March through May.

Weather Information

Northern Florida has an average high of 84 degrees in the summer (May through August) and 55 degrees in the winter (November through February). Southern Florida's climate remains steady, with an average temperature of 82 degrees in summer and 68 degrees in winter. Central Florida experiences an average temperature of 89 degrees in the summer and 71 degrees in the winter. Florida can be affected by hurricanes and tropical storms during late summer and early fall.
