Why You Should Visit San Juan
Although Puerto Rico is an American territory, San Juan has a decidedly European feel thanks to its cobblestone streets and historic buildings. On your first visit to San Juan, climb to the sentries’ walks along the historic El Morro fort for views of the beach, ocean, mountains, and historic Old San Juan.
When to Visit San Juan
Hurricane season in Puerto Rico runs from June through November. December to April is considered peak season to visit San Juan, so expect high prices and fully booked hotels. The late spring and late fall months are the best time to visit, when the weather is pleasant and crowds are smaller.
Average San Juan Weather
San Juan has warm temperatures year-round. Average highs are around 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Average lows never dip below 70. Rain is the real weather concern for San Juan travel, with May, August, October, and November seeing the most average rainfall. Hurricanes are possible June through November.
