A man flying from China’s Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport to Nairobi, Kenya went to extreme lengths to avoid paying an excess baggage fee, reports the Guangzhou Daily.
The passenger showed up at the airport, only to be told that his luggage exceeded the weight limit. So, instead of paying the fee, the man unpacked and put on more than 60 shirts and nine pairs of jeans.
He then proceeded to security, where he set off the metal detector, and had to undergo a full body search (we can’t even imagine how long that must have taken, considering how many layers he was wearing). During the search, security workers found that the flyer’s ridiculous amounts of pockets were overflowing with batteries, flash drives, toys, and chargers. (The paper did not report if the flyer was allowed to board after the search, wearing all his layers.)
Maybe next time, this guy should think about investing in some clothes from Scottevest, which come with hidden pockets and compartments designed to let you forgo a bag on the road.
