A free tank of gas, no extra-driver fees for spouses or domestic partners, and discounted rates on five-day-or-longer, full-size, four-door, premium and luxury vehicles, mid and full-size SUVs, and minivan rentals. That’s what Hertz is offering up as its Family Pack Offer, available from August 2 through October 31.

The free tank of gas is great, but the discounted rental rates and no extra-driver charges seem to be the best part of the deal. The regular cost for additional drivers varies by state, but can be $10 per day, with a cap of $50.

Hertz is marketing this promotion towards families, but it’s not like you have to show the family portrait to get the deal. Just mention rate code “FAMILY” when you reserve.

Incidentally, Hertz also has a, well, it’s not quite a promotion and not quite a contest, but if you rent a compact manual car for a week from participating locations in Europe, you might be offered a special rate of €1 per day. The possible offer runs from through August 15. You can find more details on the Hertz website.
