Germany What to Pack
Germany’s history extends into ancient European history and includes influences older than the Roman Empire. Its geographic position means tourists should keep in mind tips about what to pack regarding clothing and supplies.
No matter what you have planned for your German adventure, these luggage options are ideal for a short or long-term stay.
Munich has a continental climate. However, because the city is located near the Alps, it is likely to rain often. Thunderstorms often seem to appear out of the blue. Make sure you take your umbrella as well as a long-sleeved shirt and some trousers in the summer. The range of temperatures between day and night, whether in summer or winter, can be huge. A warm downwind from the Alps can change the temperatures completely within a matter of hours, even in the winter. Munich experiences very chilly winters, although heavy rainfall is very rare in the winter.
If you visit in the winter, be sure and pack plenty of warm and waterproof gear. There is an extremely biting wind, and it can rain and snow a fair bit. In summer, you may need all sorts of clothes. The weather can swiftly change from warm to cool temperatures. Definitely take an umbrella or raincoat, as the weather can be quite unpredictable.
Clothes to Pack
As always, do not forget to pack a camera, and don’t forget to bring along your daily supply of medication. Painkillers and headache tablets are advised in case you fall sick during your trip. However, should you need anything, you will find much of Germany offers most of what you are looking for. The stores may have more limited hours than what you are used to though, which may be the only limitation you will face. If you are traveling by train, take a backpack. You don’t check your luggage in on trains in Germany. Instead, you take it with you wherever you go. It may not be wise to constantly drag a suitcase on and off a train.
