Get tickets to the Vegas show of your choice

Going to a show is as much a part of the Vegas experience as gambling. However, if you don’t plan in advance, the odds of finding reasonably priced tickets (or any) to the more popular productions are stacked against you.

For big production and headliner shows—especially anything by Cirque du Soleil or superstar solo artists like Elton John—plan on booking at least a month in advance, and further out if you’re looking for tickets in the lower-price categories. The goal here is not to find discounted tickets—those really don’t exist for the hot-selling shows—it’s to get the seats you want at list price. Go to the website of the casino or venue hosting the show, where you can usually purchase seats from the box office. If tickets are sold out through the box office, you may be able to find seats through a broker such as TickCo, although you’ll likely pay an inflated rate.

It’s a lot easier to get tickets to the smaller or lower-production-value shows. If you have a strong preference for what you’d like to see, definitely book tickets in advance through the show’s box office. You won’t know what shows are available until 10:30 a.m. Sometimes the pickings are slim (Carrot Top; Bite, the topless vampire review), and other times you may get lucky (Mamma Mia!; The Second City).
