If you’re a JetBlue fan (and who isn’t, these days?) there’s more good news on the horizon. The low-cost carrier is making news on two fronts—one to benefit your wallet, the other your taste buds.
First, the wallet. Lynne Marek of Bloomberg News writes that JetBlue plans to add flights to 10 new U.S. cities this year. Service to Austin is already underway, Richmond routes are on deck for early April, and the airline recently announced increased daily flights between the East and West coasts. JetBlue had previously announced it would add 35 new planes this year. As for which cities will be the next to experience the “JetBlue effect” of low fares and comfy seats? Let the speculation begin.
Meanwhile, JetBlue’s other announcement is a good one for the caffeine guzzlers out there (and, again, who isn’t these days?). The airline announced it will begin serving Dunkin’ Donuts coffee aboard its flights by February 1. No word yet which competitor will begin negotiations on a similar move with Starbucks, but in a copycat industry like this can such an announcement be far behind?
