Lake Saif-ul-Maluk, Naran – Insider Tips

Things to Do in Naran: Lake Saif-ul-Maluk

Within the Northwest Frontier Province of Pakistan lies Lake Saif-ul-Maluk in Naran. There are many insider tips for visiting in terms of what to see as well as some general information.

General Information about Naran

Naran is famous for its tourism because it’s far from militancy. The Kaghan Valley is a beautiful place and is ideal for individuals, couples, and families alike. Once within the valley, it’s then easy to travel into Naran. There is both hiking and walking available, and many people hire a jeep and pack a picnic. Various day trips are also available in order to see such areas as Shogran, Balakot, and Lake Ansoo.

Beautiful Views of the Lake

Lake Saif-ul-Maluk is at 10,578 feet above sea level and is considered one of the most beautiful within the Kaghan Valley. The lake is a source for the River Kunhar. Further, it provides a great view of Peak of Malika Parbat Mountain. There is a significant amount of rain to this area each year, so some trails will wash away.

When traveling on the road to High Mountain range, there are many locations to stop and take photos. The jeeps are not allowed to go near the lake, therefore you will need to plan to trek down a certain distance on your own, which is generally 10 to 15 minutes.

The lake does have a boating facility, though there is no emergency equipment. The depths of the lake have yet to be measured because of it being so deep. This means that anyone going out on a boat do so at their own risk. Camping is permitted and various shops and huts nearby provide all of the necessary supplies.
