How to go to Lavrio port?


Lavrio is south of Athens and can be reached by a long taxi ride of about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Athens. The taxi fare from the center of Athens to the port of Lavrio will cost about 65 euros in the day time and 80 euros at night because of the surcharge.

To get closer to Lavrio by using public transport, you can take a tram from Faliro or Syntagma to Voula and then take a taxi. A taxi ride from Voula takes about 30 minutes and cost less than half of the taxi ride from Athens.


Suburban buses to Lavrio take about two hours to reach the port from Athens. They leave from the center of Athens at Pedion Areos. Buses leave every thirty to sixty minutes. The first bus from Athens to Lavrio leaves at 05:45 am and the last bus departs at 21:30 pm. Ticket price for the bus is around 5 euros.

A taxi normally takes thirty minutes to go from Athens airport to Lavrio. There are taxi stands outside all the exits at the airport.

It is easy to walk around and take low-cost taxi cabs for short rides once you get to the port of Lavrio.
