Smaller-Size City Negates The Need for Local Bus Travel
Lourdes is a smaller-size city, so its walker-friendly, and it’s chock full of sites to see that may be missed when traveling by bus. By strolling around the city, you can see the sites without going long distances. If you choose to tour the city by bus, there is the Little Train Lourdes or Petit Train Touristique, but you may miss some of the sites and landmarks since the train takes one particular standard route. A bus tour of this city in just under 5 miles and within 45 minutes.
Long Taxi Ride From The Airport = Expensive Cab Fares
The distance from one of the main airports in Toulouse to Lourdes runs 109 miles or a 2.5 hour long cab ride. As a result of this long distance, taxi rides can be costly, averaging about $400 one way.
Available Train Service Not Convenient From the Airport
The railway station is a less expensive option than the cab service. It runs every 2 – 4 hours from the Toulouse train depot. An average, one-way train fare is $29 US dollars. With your luggage, to get from the airport in Toulouse to a nearby train station, you’ll need to catch a short and inexpensive cab ride. Once onboard the train, you’ll experience a comfort of home with train announcements in both French and English – Embarquement immédiat – now boarding.

If you’re looking for airline options from London, you’ll only find one available air way that flies into Toulouse – Ryan Air.
