Think you’ve got what it takes to succeed as a filmmaker? TripAdivsor (our parent company) will give you $25,000 and air your homemade commercial on TV if you win its “Don’t Just Visit” video contest. Five runners-up will also be awarded $1,000 and have their videos shared across TripAdvisor’s social media channels.
TripAdvisor says it is looking for short videos (either 11 or 26 seconds in length) that can be turned into 15- or 30-second TV spots. The campaign is an extension of TripAdvisor’s May campaign that showcased the benefits using TripAdvisor (and what can go wrong if you don’t). Here’s a sample:
In a statement, TripAdvisor’s Chief Marketing Officer Barbara Messing said, “No one knows better than our community of millions of travelers how TripAdvisor makes a vacation great.”
The contest runs through 11:59 p.m. ET on August 31. Winners will be announced in September. For more information and official rules, visit TripAdvisor’s contest page.
