Marbella Warnings and Dangers
Every place has its hidden dangers. Stay safe (and fresh-smelling) with the following tips.
Avenida del Mar
People have reported some scary incidents that happened in the underground parking garage at Avenida del Mar. One couple were targeted by a pair of young pickpockets posing as a confused tourists in the elevator. Another man was mugged at gunpoint in the underground garage in broad daylight, at 2 p.m. Even if you don’t keep much cash on you, it can be a real hassle to replace your identification or passport and no one wants to spend any part of their vacation filling out a police report. Just be careful when parking underground in Marbella.
Smash and Grab
The underground parking areas are expensive to park in, but they have security which is usually helpful. If you find free parking, beware of thieves. Don’t leave anything valuable in your car, especially in plain sight.
Dog Mess
Marbella is full of dog owners. Irresponsible, unthinking, unhygienic ones. Don’t blame the dogs. They don’t know any better and there is very little grass here. What is a poor pooch to do? Yes, they poo all over the tiled footpaths and you get to walk in it.
