Wintry weather is once again moving into the Northeast, bringing snow, sleet, and airline delays and cancellations to the region. Carriers are waiving change fees for affected travelers, and some airlines (noted below) are even waiving the fare difference, too. This means travelers can rebook a pricier ticket and pay nothing for the convenience.
Here are the airlines with change fee waivers in place:
- AirTran
- American
- Continental (also waiving fare difference)
- Delta
- Frontier
- JetBlue (also waiving fare difference)
- Southwest
- Spirit
- United
- US Airways
- Virgin America (also waiving fare difference)
As always, if you’re stuck at the airport with a canceled flight, your best bet is to get in line with customer service and get on the phone. Many airlines are advising passengers to check prior to leaving home to be sure their flights aren’t canceled. The last thing you want, after all, is to arrive only to find your flight isn’t departing.
Readers, can you remember a winter with as many disruptive snowstorms as this? Or does it just seem like it’s been stormier than usual? It certainly does to me, though I’m sure all the shoveling has something to do with that.
