From overwater bungalows on private islands to slopeside ski chalets, 2022 is looking to be a good year for new hotels. These are the seven hotel openings that we’re most excited about for the new year.

Thompson Denver, Denver, USA

Opening in February 2022, the Thompson Denver will be a 216 room boutique hotel set in Denver’s Lower Downtown district. The spacious rooms will be decorated in an urban chalet style with luxurious touches like Sferra bedding and D.S. & Durga bath amenities.

The hotel’s Chez Maggy restaurant, helmed by chef Ludo Lefebvre, will draw in locals and tourists alike for Colorado-influenced, French cuisine.

Rock House, Providenciales,Turks & Caicos

Perched above the turquoise waters of Turks & Caicos, the Rock House will feature 42 private villas set on a 25-foot limestone cliff above the beach. The highlight? A 100-foot infinity pool (the largest on the island) set on that same stunning cliff. Everything at the resort, from the sunset bar to the cave lounge and fitness center is designed to offer the best views of the ocean.

Passalacqua, Lake Como, Italy

Opening in June 2022 on the shores of Lake Como, just in time for Italy’s busy summer season, Passalacqua will be an exclusive private getaway sure to be in high-demand. Built in the 18th century, the historic mansion property has been converted into 24 luxurious suites that overlook stunning views of the lake and the surrounding property.

A lakeside swimming pool, open-air gym and private olive groves add to the property’s charm. Guests will be able to indulge in unique experiences like vintage boat trips around the lake, movies under the stars, and spa treatments in the gardens.

Pendry Park City, Park City, USA

You can never have enough ski-in, ski-out accommodations in Park City, so the Pendry Park City is a welcome addition to this mountain town. With a central location in Canyons Village, the hotel offers easy access to Park City Mountain. The property will open in January 2022, with plenty of time to make the most of this year’s ski season.

Off the slopes, guests can relax in the heated rooftop pool, at the spa, or at one of the hotel’s four restaurants and bars.

The Standard, Bangkok, Thailand

The new Standard hotel will be in serious competition for the best views in Bangkok when it opens in 2022. Housed in one of Thailand’s tallest buildings, the 78-story King Power Mahanakhon, The Standard will feature 155 rooms, a rooftop restaurant, and an outdoor pool deck—all with incredible vistas.

Aman New York, New York City, USA

The Crown Building has been one of the most beautiful and recognizable buildings in Manhattan’s skyline since it was built in 1921, and it’s about to house a new hotel. When it opens in May 2022, the Aman New York will take advantage of the property’s location overlooking Central Park, with plenty of outdoor terraces from which to admire the view. The Aman New York is destined to become a coveted destination for spa-goers with a three-story Wellness Centre that will sprawl across three levels, featuring hot and cold plunge pools, an indoor swimming pool, ice fountains, and saunas.

Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa, Raa Atoll, Maldives

Visitors to the Maldives will have a whole new island to choose from for a luxury vacation starting in May 2022, when the Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa opens on the private island of Raa Atoll. The resort, a Leading Hotels of the World property, will feature the overwater villas that the Maldives is famous for (complete with private infinity pools, spacious patios, and luxurious soaking tubs).

The five-star resort will be a deluxe all-inclusive, with seven restaurants and bars to choose from.
