October and November will bring the third annual Oregon Bounty, which offers visitors the chance to participate in all sorts of cool food-related activities. Possibilities include crushing grapes, making cheese, rolling truffles, and hitting the farmers’ market with local chefs. The purpose of Oregon Bounty is to connect visitors with Oregonians who “grow, catch, produce and create the state’s bountiful products.”
The website also has ideas on other fall culinary travel experiences as well as recipes featuring ingredients of the harvest. I think this is a great idea, and is sort of the ultimate cross between fall festivals, farm-to-table travel, and sheer food delight.
