Sedona – What to Pack – Clothing and Supplies Tips

Sedona What to Pack

Sedona is laid-back, eclectic destination in a mild desert climate. Here’s what to pack for a trip to Sedona.

No matter what you have planned for your Sedona adventure, these luggage options are ideal for a short or long-term stay.

What to Pack for Daytime

The desert sun is strong all year round in Sedona, so you will want to pack for protection. Sunscreen and a brimmed hat is a good idea for the numerous hikes and walks in the area.  There are also many walkable tourist shopping areas to explore.  Comfortable walking shoes and hiking books are a necessity for a trip to Sedona since you’ll find that most of your time is spent on your feet amid lots of loose desert dirt.

What to Pack for Evening

For the evenings, pack a light jacket as the desert can get cold at night, especially in winter.  Also, pack a couple of nice outfits for dinner including a shirt with sleeves for men.  July and August bring monsoons, so don’t forget to pack a rain coat and umbrella just in case you get caught in a storm. (Monsoons in Sedona are short periods of heavy rain, usually in the late afternoon or early evening.)

What Else You Should Pack

Swimming attire and flip-flops are a must for a trip to Sedona. Many resorts have pools, some heated, and Jacuzzis.  The desert air is dry, so pack extra lotion to keep your skin moisturized. While you’re exploring Sedona, pack and drink lots of water. A hike, even a short one, under the desert sun can cause dehydration, so always play it safe by having water handy. With many lakes in the area, fishing gear is another item to cross off your Sedona packing list. Any toiletries can be packed from home or bought at any local pharmacy.
