Best Shopping in Sharjah
There are many places to shop in Sharjah, and you can get some great deals on certain items. You’ll find everything from modern day stores to open air bazaars called Souks that harken back to another era.
The Souks are open air markets. Some of them are more modern, and some of them give you a glimpse into a world nearly forgotten in modern times. You’ll find prices on the items in the market, but you’ll still need to negotiate if you want to get a deal. Act as if you aren’t that interested in the item and begin to walk away, and the salesman is likely to call after you with a bargain. While there are many great deals to be had, things aren’t always what they seem, and not everything is authentic.
The Sahara Mall is a little classier and calmer than the other malls in Sharjah. There is a wide variety of shops selling Arab and western perfumes, clothing, and home furnishings. There are several Arab antique shops with beautiful home furnishings, and a few bookstores that sell Western books.
Al Lail Al Muneer
This shop has beautiful large oil paintings and high end chandeliers. The chandeliers are classic, country, and modern designs, and they have Tiffany pendants and Antler chandeliers. These are the types of chandeliers you see in luxury homes and Hollywood sets, and you won’t find them anywhere else in the region.
Sharjah Gold Center
The Sharjah Gold Center was built in 1996, and it has 44 gold shops. It’s a great place to go for an incredible deal on any type of gold.
