Perhaps signaling that next year will be as promotion-rich as this year (and the year before), Starwood has announced a new bonus offer for stays beginning in 2010.
Between January 5 and April 15, 2010, Starwood Preferred Guest members can earn up to quadruple points for multiple stays, as follows: double points for stays of one or two nights; triple points for three-night stays; and quadruple points for stays of four or more nights. The bonuses are for consecutive nights spent at the same hotel.
Program members must register to earn the bonuses. (The registration link isn’t active yet, so you’ll have to check back closer to the promotion’s start date.)
Deal or No Deal
This is a decent deal for shorter stays, and a solid deal when the points are tripled or quadrupled for longer stays.
The promotion applies to stays at “more than 850 participating properties.” But at last count, the Starwood family comprised more than 960 hotels, which means roughly 110 hotels are not participating in this offer. Hence the caveat: Confirm in advance that the hotel you’re considering is on the list.
