Sunny Beach Transportation
There are two main challenges to Sunny Beach Transportation – the best way to get to the beach, and the best way to explore the area. Whether it’s train, airplane, or horse and carriage, here is airport information, and the best ways to get to and around Sunny Beach.
Burgas Airport
Burgas Airport is situated in the bay on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast, 10 km north-east of the city of Burgas.
Burgas Airport is on an area of 2,532,000 square meters. It has a 3,200-meter runway capable of receiving the heaviest types of aircraft – like a Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet and the 124 Rouslan.
The airport has easy access to transport by air, sea and land, you can sail out from the nearby sea Port of Bourgas, pick up trains to anywhere in Europe from a major railway junction, and there are two motorways, the E 87 international motorway and the Trans-European Corridor No 8.
The mild climate and the meteorological conditions in the region ensure excellent visibility throughout all seasons and 24-hour operation of Bourgas Airport all the year round.
You can easily access the nearby Sunny Beach by bus, and taxi.
The Tourist Train
The tourist train comes every 10 to 15 minutes and goes to and from Sunny Beach and Nessebar. If you see one coming your way, you can pretty much just hail it. It costs 2 Lev per person (1 Lev for kids) and takes you into the very center of either destination.
Boat Taxis
You can take a boat from Sunny Beach to Nessebar. It costs 10 Lev or 5 Euros. It offers a beautiful panorama view of the whole bay. The Boat station is at the beach when you follow the Kuban alley.
Horse and Carriage Taxi
One of the best ways to get around Sunny Beach is by horse and carriage taxi. The rates are less than for a regular taxi, and you have a better view of the town as you’re passing.
Regular Taxi
There are always regular taxis available everywhere you go in Sunny Beach. The rates can be decent, but always negotiate your price before you enter the taxi because drivers are known for charging tourists ridiculous prices, they don’t have set rates like in London.
Bus
Buses are by far the least expensive way to get around Sunny Beach, but they are often overcrowded and hot. The tourist train is a much more pleasant experience.
