Taganga is a small, traditional fishing village that sits along the Caribbean coast in Colombia. Visitors will find that transportation to this region can be done by mostly by bus.

Santa Marta and Taganga

It is very easy to travel between Taganga and Santa Marta using the frequent minibuses between the two towns. The trip takes about 15 minutes to arrive from Taganga to Plaza Bolivar in Santa Marta. Many people also travel the opposite route. The bus terminal in Santa Marta is in the city’s center, and can be used to travel to Taganga.

Cartagena and Taganga

The trip to Taganga from Cartagena takes place over several steps. You first need to find the bus terminal in Cartagena, which you can travel to using a local Metrocar. Once at the bus terminal, get quotes from the local companies about their connections to Santa Marta. Regardless of what company you choose, the journey will take between four and five hours. Finally, from the Santa Marta terminal, you can take a final bus to Taganga.

Travelling Around Taganga

From the bus terminal in Santa Marta, you can connect to many of the areas surrounding Taganga. These locations include Playa Grande, Tayrona Park, Canaveral, Playa Crystal, and other locations.

There are also a few tourist agencies in Taganga and Santa Marta that offer diving, snorkeling, and other tours of the area. However, most of the on-land sightseeing can be done on your own. The area around Taganga is beautiful and makes for a fun day of exploration.
