Tahiti – What to Pack – Clothing and Supplies Tips

Tahiti What to Pack

With Tahiti’s hot weather, it might seem like you wouldn’t need to fill up your suitcase, but there are still plenty of things you’ll want to have on hand. Use our tips to help you pack for your trip.

Luggage

No matter what you have planned for your Tahitian adventure, these luggage options are ideal for a short or long-term stay.

Clothing

Bring light, comfortable clothing. Wrap-style dresses are popular in this country because they allow the breeze to cool you off. You’ll also be comfortable in shorts and T-shirts. Since you’ll probably spend a lot of time at the beach, pack more than one swimsuit. You’ll never have to deal with the uncomfortable feeling of putting on a cold, wet suit. Mosquitoes are particularly prevalent at night, so consider some long sleeves and pants to prevent bites.

Skin Care and Medical Supplies

Supplies in Tahiti tend to be a bit expensive, so try to pack what you might need from home. Sunscreen can reduce your chances of sunburn, but anyone who burns easily will probably want to pack some aloe as well. You’ll also want mosquito repellant and a small first aid kit with band aids and anti-bacterial cream.

Extras

A smaller bag makes day trips easier. Choose one that’s big enough to fit everything you need. If you’ll be snorkeling, it’s fun to have an underwater camera. This allows you to capture one of the most unique aspects of your trip to Tahiti. Since you may still have a wet bathing suit when you head home, it’s smart to bring a plastic bag. This protects your other clothes during the long flight home.
