Taipei offers visitors a wealth of options when it comes to shopping. Venues include malls, department stores, night markets, and entire shopping districts.

Shopping Centers

Skyscraper Taipei 101, has all types of shopping on the lower floors including Louis Vuitton, Dior, Celine, and more. On the fourth floor, you’ll find the Page One bookstore from Singapore. It has the highest-roofed coffee house in Taipei and many fine restaurants. Even the food court on the ground floor serves rather good food. Ximen has a huge number of clothing stores and plenty of restaurants. It’s usually very crowded with student types, but after 9 p.m. or so, it quiets down.

Shaped like a sphere, the Core Pacific Living Mall looks beautiful when it’s lit up at night. There’s plenty of shopping, a food court, and a movie theater inside.

The Miramar Entertainment Park offers shopping and entertainment and has a 95-meter-high Ferris wheel. The Shih Lin Night Market sells almost every product you can think of, from electronics to clothing, and food too.

Stores

If you’re looking for the trendiest clothing, shoes, or accessories, shop at Ximending. Be sure to compare prices and bargain, as some shops tend to jack up their prices. Wufenpu is a wholesaler that also sells retail. They carry about 80 percent women’s clothes and about 20 percent men’s clothes. Although prices here are cheaper on average than say Ximending, the clothes at Ximending are better quality. They sell mostly to young adults and teens. Established in 1989, Eslite  pioneered the 24-hour bookstore concept in Taiwan.
