With most jobs going remote for who knows how long, some people are dreaming about buying a second home. Doesn’t a cozy little cabin in the snow-covered mountains sound like a pretty nice escape right about now?
Vacation rental site Vacasa has ranked the 10 best spots in the U.S. to buy a winter vacation house. The report is based on home sales for the last twelve months for popular vacation destinations, combined with rental property pricing data. (The cap rate shows the return on investment for properties used as a short-term rental.)
For example, rental properties in the number one destination on this list, Big Sky, Montana, have a median home purchase cost of $541,842 and an annual gross rental revenue of nearly $80,000.
So if you want to buy a winter vacation house and have other people pay your mortgage, consider one of these destinations.
