Fight Illness Abroad at the Grocery Store
Here we are, recommending more tips from The New York Times. We just can’t resist. This advice is gold. (Unlike the guidance offered in the last story in our round-up.) If you’re sick on the road, says The Times, hit the local grocery store. There, you can find natural home remedies for everything from stomach bug to bug bites. The Times also offers one very surprising first-aid use for pepper: Sprinkle it on your bleeding cut to slow blood flow. We’re serious. See for yourself.
Biblical Park Has Donkeys with Wi-Fi
Donkeys with Wi-Fi? You better believe it. At a biblical amusement park in Israel, donkeys that provide guests with old-fashioned rides around the park have been outfitted with Wi-Fi routers, to allow riders to post about their experiences on Facebook and Twitter. This is according to Conde Nast Traveler, which reports, “[riders] get to do something biblical figures certainly never did: surf the web. …Sacrilegious?”
We think not. It’s our guess the guests who visit the biblical park engage in lots of practices that biblical figures certainly never did (like exchange modern currency for goods and services or take antibiotics)—and vice versa. Why not just accept it?
