Wild Animals of Lamington National Park

Feed wild parrots, turkeys, and other birds daily from 11am to 3pm for $4.00 per tray of food, enough for two people to share in the feeding. The grateful parrots will land on your hand, arm or even your head. Wildlife lives throughout the park so you are sure to catch a glimpse of some Wallabies and Lace Monitors, for example.

Track Walking and Hiking in Lamington National Park

There is a huge network of walking tracks in the Lamington National Park with varying lengths and difficulty and there are plenty of tables and maps along the way to keep you from getting lost. You can walk or hike rainforest trails in the Binna Burra area that take you to waterfalls and spectacular lookouts. The West Conungra Creek hike is about a 7 1/2 hike along the creek for hardcore hikers. If you visit the park in winter, be careful on walks as the leaves and rocks can be slippery and the weather is typically cold.

Tree Top Walking in Lamington National Park

This park also has one of the first tree top walks ever opened in Australia. It’s brilliant, with amazing views, and there are ladders to climb to get even better, higher views.  The tree top walk is free, but you can leave some money in the donation box at the end of the walk.
