Make sure you bring warm clothing including a thick jacket as it can be very cold in the morning and during much of the rest of the day. A series of layers are vital. Many travelers come to relax and meditate so the emphasis is on letting go and being with nature all day long. Sip your coffee slowly and let the world unfold in front of you. Later, you can sample an al fresco lunch at the Sherpa Alpine lodge or sample Nepalese foods at the comfy Kumari Bakery Cafe.
Take a Walk
The comfortable Nagarkot roads are made for walking. Bring a good pair of walking shoes so you can take advantage of the roads and take beneficial long walks. Many travelers find it delightful to see the Vajrayogini temple in Sankhu. It’s about a two hour walk so you’ll get plenty of exercise along the way. You can also hire a bike there there to make the trip easier. Bike paths are common in the area. Bring a pair of binoculars and hire a guide to take you birdwatching. Local birds can be seen everywhere. Many are rarely seen anywhere else. You can also go rock climbing along several small area mountain ranges. Many paths are geared towards beginners so it’s easy head up. Many hotels have both indoor and outdoor pools so you can go swimming and then relax in the spa afterwards. They also have area ponies that are sturdy and used to the high mountain air. You can take a pony ride that will bring you across the lush, green valley via an authentic form of local transport.
