Thousand Traveler Magnetic Bike Lights Review

One of our favorite companies for cycling gear, Thousand, just launched a much-needed new product—the Traveler Magnetic Bike Lights. We tested out these travel-sized lights to see if they deserve a spot on your next ride.

What Are the Thousand Traveler Magnetic Bike Lights?

The Traveler bike lights are magnetically mounted lights that you can attach to the front or back of your bicycle for visibility and safety. The lights come in either a rear design (with a red light) or a front headlight style. You can purchase both in one set, or buy them individually.

What Makes the Thousand Traveler Magnetic Bike Lights Different?

The easy-to-install mount for the light quickly straps on your bike wherever you want to use it. The magnetic mount allows you to easily remove the actual light and take it with you so it doesn’t get stolen when you’re parked on the street.

Turn the dial to quickly switch between the light’s three modes: solid, daylight flash, and eco-flash.

Ease of Use: 10/10

The Traveler bike lights don’t require any tools or technical knowledge to install. Simply strap on the light holder and then pop on the actual light—the magnetic mount does all the work.

The light has a clearly marked dial that makes it easy to see which mode you are setting the light to.

Cost: 9/10

The Traveler bike lights are available on Thousand’s website for $35 individually, or $65 for a set of front and rear lights. All light purchases include either a handlebar mount or seat post mount (or both, if you buy the set).

The lights are rechargeable (use the included USB-C charger), and the price point is on par (or cheaper) with bike lights from other reputable cycling companies.

Portability: 10/10

The magnetic mount makes it super easy to take your light with you—which is key if you park your bike on the street.

The lights are also small and easy to pack if you’re going on a bike trip. The light itself weighs 40 g and the mount weighs 20 g.

Thousand Traveler Magnetic Bike Lights Pros:

  • Easy to remove and helps prevent theft
  • Simple to install
  • Rechargable
  • Lights will last up to 22 hours on eco flash mode
  • Water-resistant
  • Three different light modes
  • Available in fun colors to match your bike

Thousand Traveler Magnetic Bike Lights Cons:
