Tipping at All-Inclusive Resorts in Cancun
Tipping at the all-inclusive resorts is encouraged, although staff will never ask for a tip. Instead, a server or maid may say to you, “Tomorrow is my day off,” which means that if you’re going to tip them, then it’s a good idea to do it before their day off. They typically work six days a week for low wages and rely on the tips. Most of the staff are not locals but come from other areas of Mexico or other countries.
Tipping Shuttle Bus and Taxi Drivers in Cancun
Although shuttle bus and taxi drivers do not always expect tips, it is recommended to tip them. If you plan on taking a taxi, be sure to agree upon a price first so there is no misunderstanding when you get to your location. At that point, you can give a tip on top of the agreed upon amount.
