Ibiza Warnings and Dangers
The island of Ibiza is located off the coast of Spain. A popular tourist destination for the area’s lively nightlife and charming shores, it is also home to Ibiza Town — a UNESCO World Heritage site. While Ibiza makes a wonderful getaway, there are certain hazards that can be found on the island. Any visitor will want to keep in mind minor dangers when they are planning their trip.

Traveling Along the Island
Getting around Ibiza can be done on foot, by boat and by moped. When walking, make sure you have proper walking shoes as there are many areas in the region that can be very steep. You don’t want to lose your footing and fall. Save the high heels for the evening dancing rather than any walking during the day. The climb to the top of the Old Town area offers amazing views but you will be confronted with heights when you are there. Another thing to be aware of are the popular mopeds on the island. Mopeds make a great way to get around but they’re not always the safest way to travel. You can hire one yourself to get around. Just be careful when using one on the roads. There are many very reckless drivers who may not give you the right of way. You don’t want to wind up in the hospital when you’re on vacation.
It Can Be Noisy
If you’re staying in Ibiza, be aware that the partying can get quite intense at night. This means you might hear lots of noise at night even in the less traveled areas. Be prepared and bring some ear plugs if you are particularly sensitive to noise. Drunken youths can also be a problem. If you love to party this can be the place to be. However, if you prefer the quiet, you might want to think about perhaps another destination altogether. Loud noise can also be a problem during the day as many clubs can open as early as 9 a.m. Be aware that certain area may also be home to drugs. If you like clubs, make sure you look carefully at the fine print when you buy a ticket. You might not be able to enter a certain club at certain time of the evening. Some clubs have long lines. Buying at the door may cost you more. Make sure your ticket is valid for the date you want.
Other Problems
Some tourists have also reported minor crimes in this area such as being mugged even when with lots of other people. You should take sensible precautions when you are here by keeping your purse with you. The local water is not considered to be of good quality. Bring water bottles with you everywhere you go so you don’t get dehydrated.
