Tourists really shouldn’t drive in Karachi. The traffic is heavy and most people do not follow any traffic rules, causing major traffic jams all over the city. The roads are especially bad from 5 pm to 8 pm. The best way to get around Karachi is by hiring a taxi or going on foot when possible.
The pickpockets in Karachi are experts who usually work in groups. They will snatch anything they can get their hands on so keep wallets, identification and your mobile phone in your safe back in the hotel. Just carry a small amount of money on you and be sure pickpockets can’t get to your valuables. The evening is particularly dangerous for getting robbed. Avoid the old areas of the city such as Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, Korangi, and Gulshan where there is nothing to see for tourists.
