There are many, many promotions. But there are only a few really, really good ones.
In this monthly roundup, we highlight the five most lucrative offers currently available to members of airline and hotel loyalty programs.
(Promotions are listed in alphabetical order.)
1. Delta miles and iTunes for N.Y.-Chicago flights
Through July 15, Delta SkyMiles members will earn 2,500 miles for each nonstop round-trip Delta flight between New York (La Guardia) and Chicago (Midway), plus a $15 iTunes gift card for each New York-Chicago round-trip booked online at delta.com. The bonuses may be earned up to four times for a maximum of 10,000 bonus miles and $60 in iTunes.
Registration is required.
2. Bonus Hyatt points for San Francisco stays
Hotels in San Francisco typically let the city itself act as the incentive. So this opportunity to earn extra points for hotel stays is worthy of special mention.
Through August 31, Hyatt Gold Passport members will receive 5,000 bonus points for stays of two or more nights at the following San Francisco-area properties: Hyatt at Fisherman’s Wharf, Grand Hyatt San Francisco, Hyatt Regency San Francisco, Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, Hyatt Regency Santa Clara, and Hyatt Vineyard Creek Hotel and Spa.
Use promotion code SFO5K when booking online at Hyatt.com.
3. Northwest offers Miles to Go
Through July 31, Northwest WorldPerks members can earn up to 50,000 bonus miles by dining out, shopping, renting a car, or staying in a hotel. First, members are awarded points for transactions with selected WorldPerks partners. Then those points are converted to WorldPerks miles at the end of the promotion.
Registration is required. Once registered, members can also enter the “Miles To Go” sweepstakes for a chance to win one of 1,200 prizes, including trips, free hotel stays, gift cards, and more.
4. Priority Club credit card nets bigger bonuses
There’s never been a better time to sign up for a new Priority Club Rewards Visa Signature card.
New cardholders earn 25,000 bonus points after the first charge. And through the end of July, cardholders will earn up to 25 points for every $1 spent at Priority Club hotels (the 10 points per $1 normally earned + three points per $1 charged to the card + 12 bonus points per $1).
5. Earn more Starwood points at Aloft hotels
Between June 1 and December 31, Starwood Preferred Guest members can earn quadruple points for stays at Aloft hotels, Starwood’s eighth and newest brand.
There will be 18 of the ultra-hip Aloft hotels open for business by the end of this year, and 35 more in 2009.
Registration is required to earn the extra points.
