Late last year, the U.S. and Mexico signed an agreement that expanded air service between the two countries. And as more U.S. airlines continue to announce new and expanded routes, it becomes increasingly easier to get to top destinations in Mexico. When I wrote about this back in winter, the airlines that had announced new or expanded service were: Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Mexicana, and United. As fall gives way to the winter high season, expect to see a lot of the new service kicking into high gear.
It remains to be seen if the increased competition on routes makes getting to Mexico more affordable, but it’s entirely possible that this will be the case. If it’s not there already, put Mexico on your radar as an affordable destination that’s easier to get to than ever before.
