Late last week, Travelocity announced a partnership with Community Marketing, Inc. (CMI) that delivers new online search options for gay, lesbian, and transgendered travelers. Through the partnership, gay travelers can now search a database of gay-friendly hotel properties certified by Travel Alternatives Group (TAG). To be certified, each property must:
- Not discriminate based on sexual orientation
- Treat heterosexual and gay relationships equally in personnel policies
- Ensure “sensitivity training” for employees
- Employ a diverse staff, including gay and lesbian employees
Travelocity’s gay travel section also highlights vacation packages to gay-friendly destinations like San Francisco and New York City, and provide a list of gay and lesbian events worldwide.
