The Local Bars

The Circus Bar is a great place to start the night and enjoy a drink. This place will win you over with its cozy feel and old movie posters. This bar also serves meats and cheeses with your drinks. Nightlife lovers might also Bar Unita, which provides travelers with a lovely view over Piazza dell’ Unita. The drinks are good, and the outside seating allows you to people watch as you sip on your drink. Yet another bar to visit is La Bucca di San Francesco. Restaurant by day, trendy bar by night, this is a great place to spend an evening drinking with friends.

The Teatros

The Teatro Stabile Friùli Venezia Giulia is the main theatre in Trieste, apart from the opera house Teatro Giuseppe Verdi. Every play usually runs about five times per day, including an afternoon and a Sunday performance. Other performances start at later times. Also, ballets and musicals are performed in this theatre, but they cost more to see than a play. The top of the building houses the Sala Bartoli, where special plays, not included in the Rossetti drama season, are performed.

There is also the Teatro Verdi, which is the opera house of Trieste. It is located inside a beautiful building close to Piazza Unita d’Italia. Many operas are scheduled from autumn to spring, and every opera is performed several times within a week.
