Two luxury lines plan specialty cruises

Whatever your interests, you can find a cruise that caters to you. Theme sailings have become quite popular. To wit, two luxury cruise lines have announced upcoming specialty cruises. Seabourn will host its fourth “Great American Food and Wine Festival” cruise, and Regent Seven Seas will offer special pilates and yoga programs on eight Baltic sailings.

Seabourn’s 12-night food festival cruise departs on October 29 out of Gloucester (near Boston). The ships calls in Bermuda, Norfolk, Charleston, Amelia Island, and Port Canaveral, and ends in the Bahamas. Guest chef Paulette Mitchell will lead tastings and cooking demonstrations, and cruisers can experience special culinary events both onboard and in port. Also, professional photographer Nancy Bundt will teach guests how to photograph food and present her own images. Fares for this sailing start at $4,799 per person.

Regent Seven Seas has invited yoga and pilates experts onboard its summer Baltic sailings. Cruises departing on July 1, 8, and 15 will host daily pilates classes. G. Pelliteri, owner of the Pilates Institute of Scottsdale, will lead classes for all levels. On the five voyages departing between July 22 and August 19, the focus will shift to yoga. Instructors Michael Lechonczak, Robin Whitney Levine, and Paul Malley will teach their “IntelligentYoga” methods to both novice and advanced yoga students. Fares start at $3,298 for the July 29 and August 12 departures and $5,276 for the remaining six cruises.
