I had a fantastic trip to our Nation’s capital , Washington, DC, for a week and the memories will last a life time, I did not know that there was so much history there and so many sites to see, so I am planning a return trip in 2016.
Some of the highlights were the visit to the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial, the U.S. Capitol, and the sightseeing tour at the White House. I also visited the National Cathedral, National Archives, Embassy Row, and the WW 11 Memorial. There were a lot of veterans visiting the Memorial and I had the pleasure of hearing some of their stories.
I could not leave Washington, DC without seeing the inspirational sights such as the Tomb of the Unknown soldiers, and later a visit to the two Jima Memorial. My tour ended at the Smithsonian Museum on Natural History (the home of the Hope Diamond) and the National Mall.
