How Grumpy Cat Travels
Grumpy Cat, the adorably grouchy-looking celebrity feline that has probably popped up in your Facebook feed a dozen or so times, recently traveled to Austin to kick off his Friskies campaign. But his trip was not without controversy.
TMZ reported that Grumpy Cat (also called Tard or Tarder Sauce) flew first class, with his own fur-brushing assistant and an endless supply of cat treats. “Gives a whole new meaning to Aristocats,”said TMZ. Is Grumpy Cat a purr-ma donna?
Not true, reports Jaunted. According to Jaunted, “Naturally our curiosity kicked in and a quick twitter search combined with some Googling easily shot holes into TMZ’s First Class claims. Grumpy Cat flew in Economy Class on US Airways, just like any other cat would.” Pictures the website dug up on Twitter confirm that Tard flew coach in a small cat cage—just like your average grumpy traveler.
Giving Up English for Lent
Flora of the travel blog Flora the Explorer writes about moving to Ecuador and abandoning her English during lent. As expected, it’s not easy. Shye writes, “I knew that if I wanted to learn Spanish properly, I was going to have to work at it—and part of the privilege that comes with immersion in a host country’s language is the expectation that you’ll actually make an effort to learn, and not just let the opportunities pass you by.”
So Flora developed a method for improving her Spanish as quickly as possible. And it worked. Find out how she did it.
