When To Go

Honduras is a tropical destination with accessible beaches on its Caribbean coast and mountains in its interior. The most popular time to visit is December through February, when visitors want to escape cold winters up north. June through August is a busy time when people take their summer vacations. Easter and Christmas also peak with visitors. The least popular time is the rainy season from October through November. May through early June can be ideal for a combination of favorable weather and good prices on airfare and hotels.

When to Save

May, October, and November are the best times to save money on hotels and airfare. Airfares are highest around Christmas.

When to Book

Book a month before departure to get the best airfare and car rental prices. The lowest rates are usually found on the Internet, from U.S.-based sites, rather than locally. It's also a good idea to book with major car rental companies. For hotels, book as far in advance as possible to ensure availability, especially for properties around the Bay Islands and North Coast.
