Weather InformationThe climate is temperate throughout most of the year, with occasional scattered showers. The summer is the warmest season, with temperatures reaching 90 degrees in July. Summer temperatures drop as the leaves begin to change color, and it remains cool until November, when the first measurable snow falls. The winter experiences freezing temperatures and blankets of snow.
Crowd InformationThe summer months tend to be the most crowded, with the onslaught of annual festivals such as Waterfire in Providence, JVC Jazz Festival in Newport, and induction ceremonies at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport.
Closure InformationCoastal motels and bed and breakfasts are likely to close during the off-season and not reopen again until Memorial Day.
When to SaveThe best deals are offered during the winter months of November through February. However, a vacation in the spring will also save money while avoiding the chill of winter. Discounts are offered for travel on Sundays through Thursdays year-round.
