Taiwan

When To Go

Taiwan is a warm destination year-round and doesn't experience a low season, so almost any time of the year can be good for a visit. However, the summer typhoon season can impact travel.

high season: December to August
shoulder season: September to November

Weather Information

Taiwan offers a warm climate throughout the year, with an average of 72 degrees. However, a few scattered showers occur in the spring. Summer is typhoon season, so be sure to check all weather reports before traveling.

Crowd Information

In June, tourism surges during the Computex Taipei (Taipei International Information Technology Show), the world's second biggest IT show and the largest in Asia. Chinese New Year is a major annual event that attracts large crowds.

Closure Information

Hotels, restaurants, and shops remain open throughout the year, even on Chinese New Year.

When to Save

The shoulder season can be a more economical time to visit.

When to Book

Book at least three months in advance for travel during high season and one month in advance for all other times.
